Does it include installation?

Equipment and installation are priced separately so you only pay for what you need. Buy equipment-only if you have your own installer, or request a quote and we’ll include installation through an approved, licensed installation partner — one written number covering both.

What financing options do you offer?

We partner with Affirm, so you can split your purchase into monthly payments instead of paying everything up front. Checking your rate takes seconds and won’t affect your credit score. You’ll see the Affirm option at checkout and on every quote.

Is the equipment new?

Yes — 100% brand-new, factory-warranted Goodman equipment. We never sell refurbished, open-box, or gray-market units, and we help you register your warranty after purchase.

How does the warranty work?

Goodman equipment carries the full factory warranty. Register within 60 days of installation to secure the extended parts coverage — we’ll help you do it. Keep in mind warranty terms require professional installation and matched components, which is why we flag correct pairings on every quote.

How fast is delivery?

We stock equipment locally in Georgia, so local pickup is often available and local delivery is fast — usually days, not weeks. Nationwide orders ship free by freight carrier to the 48 contiguous states — see our Shipping Policy for delivery expectations.

Heat Pumps

Is a heat pump good for Georgia?

Georgia is close to ideal heat pump territory: hot summers where it works as a normal AC, and mild winters well within a modern unit’s efficient heating range. Backup heat strips cover the few extreme nights a year.

Heat pump vs. AC + furnace?

One system versus two. The heat pump wins on simplicity and does everything electrically; the furnace combo wins on hot, fast winter air if you have gas. Operating costs are close in our climate — it usually comes down to whether gas service already exists.

What are SEER2 and HSPF2?

SEER2 rates cooling efficiency, HSPF2 rates heating efficiency. A Georgia heat pump earns its keep in both seasons, so both numbers matter — unlike an AC, where only SEER2 counts.

Are there rebates or tax credits?

Higher-efficiency heat pumps may qualify for a federal energy-efficiency tax credit, and some Georgia utilities offer rebates. Programs and qualifying tiers change — ask on your quote and we’ll flag what your model currently qualifies for.

Air Conditioners & Sizing

What size AC (tonnage) do I need?

A rough Georgia baseline is one ton of cooling per 500–600 square feet, but insulation, windows, ceiling height, and sun exposure move that number meaningfully. Oversized units short-cycle and leave the house humid — the most common sizing mistake. We size it free with your quote.

What is SEER2?

SEER2 measures cooling efficiency under the current federal test standard — higher means lower electric bills. Georgia’s minimum for new installs is 14.3 SEER2. Higher tiers cost more up front and less every month; mid-tiers usually hit the best value for Georgia summers.

AC or heat pump for Georgia?

A straight-cool AC pairs with a furnace and only cools. A heat pump costs a bit more but heats and cools with one system — a strong fit for our mild winters. If you have a working gas furnace, AC-plus-furnace is the natural pairing; if you’re replacing everything, price both.

Gas Furnace Systems

What AFUE do I need in Georgia?

AFUE is the percentage of your gas bill that becomes heat — an 80% furnace sends 20 cents of every dollar out the flue; a 96% model sends 4. Because Georgia heating seasons are short, high-AFUE models pay back more slowly here than up north. 80% is the value pick, 92–96% wins if you plan to stay in the home long-term. We’ll give you the honest math for your usage.

Gas or electric heat?

If you have gas service, a gas furnace delivers fast, hot supply air at a low operating cost. If you don’t, a heat pump beats electric-resistance heat by a wide margin in Georgia’s mild winters. The wrong answer is electric strip heat as your primary source — it’s the most expensive way to heat a Georgia home.

What size furnace does my home need?

Sizing depends on square footage, insulation, and your ductwork, measured in BTU input. Oversizing causes short-cycling and uneven rooms; undersizing means cold nights. Put your square footage in the quote form and we’ll size it at no charge.

What’s included in a complete system?

The outdoor unit (AC or heat pump), the AHRI-matched indoor coil, and the air handler or furnace — every major component, correctly paired, at one package price. Add a thermostat or line set if your install needs them.

How do I size a full system?

Same inputs as a single unit — square footage, insulation, windows, ductwork — but the answer sets every component at once, so it’s worth getting right. Give us your square footage and we’ll spec the full package free.

Heat pump system or AC + furnace system?

Heat pump: one system for everything, no gas needed, efficient in Georgia winters. AC + furnace: hotter supply air and a good fit if you have gas service. Both are legitimate here — we’ll quote both if you’re deciding.

Air Handlers

Air handler or furnace?

An air handler is the indoor blower for all-electric systems (typically paired with a heat pump). A furnace does the same job while adding gas heat. If you have gas service you likely want a furnace; if you’re going all-electric with a heat pump, an air handler is the match.

How do I match it to my condenser?

Tonnage and airflow must match, and the pairing should be AHRI-certified. Send us your outdoor unit’s model number and we’ll confirm the right air handler — mismatches cost efficiency and can void warranty.

ECM vs. PSC blower motor?

ECM (variable-speed) motors use less electricity, run quieter, and hold airflow steady as filters load up. PSC motors are the budget option. For a system you’ll run daily for 15 years, the ECM usually pays for itself.

Packaged Units

What is a packaged unit?

Heating and cooling combined in a single outdoor cabinet — no indoor equipment at all. Common for homes on slabs without closet/attic space and for light-commercial rooftops.

Gas/electric vs. heat-pump packaged?

Gas/electric packages pair gas heat with electric cooling — the pick if you have gas service. Heat-pump packages do both electrically. The same furnace-vs-heat-pump logic applies, just in one cabinet.

How are packaged units sized?

Same rules as split systems — square footage, insulation, ductwork. Packaged replacements also need to match your existing curb or slab configuration; a photo of the current unit’s nameplate and setup lets us quote it right.
